At St. Mary's we offer both breakfast and hot lunch during the school year. St. Mary’s participates in the National School Lunch Program. We contract our lunches through Westside Nutrition Services and Hiland Dairy. Every meal is planned to meet USDA nutrition guidelines for elementary-aged children.

Allergies & Dietary Accommodations
- Food Allergies vs. Intolerances: An intolerance (such as lactose intolerance) affects digestion, while an allergy triggers an immune system response and may be life-threatening.
- No Food Sharing: Due to allergies, intolerances, and other conditions, students may not share food.
- Nut-Free Menus: Westside does not serve nut items on elementary school menus. However, families must still preview menu items for safety using MealViewer (use the Allergens filter).
If your child requires a medical meal accommodation, a licensed healthcare provider must complete a Medical Statement form. Please submit it to the school nurse or office - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
For milk substitutions, a USDA-compliant non-dairy alternative is available for students with intolerances or special dietary needs. Please complete the parent request form and submit it to the school nurse.

How to Pay for Lunches
Your child may qualify for free or reduced-price lunches based on household income. Students who qualified last year are automatically approved for the first 30 days of the new school year, but a new application must be submitted each year to continue eligibility.
Applications are confidential—no one, including your child or their teacher, will be aware of the status.

Guests are not permitted to eat lunch with students unless it’s a school-sponsored event. Parents may check out their child for the lunch/recess period on special occasions such as birthdays.

Parent volunteers are always needed to help serve lunch and lunchroom duty counts toward service hours for Home and School.
