St. Mary’s has three Endowments and all donations go directly to the endowment principal which can never be spent; only the earnings may be used to help the parish balance our annual operating budget.

Donations to these endowments can be made on our giving platform or through envelopes, but these funds can also receive IRA donations, Matching Contributions from employers, Stock Transfers, Memorial Gifts, and Estate Planned Gifts through a will, contract, or trust. If you are interested in discussing any of these gift options further, please contact Melissa Swiecicki, Stewardship and Development Coordinator, at 402-291-1350 ext. 106 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Education Endowment

Parish leaders under former pastor, Cardinal Blase Cupich, created the Education Endowment. The principal funds can never be spent, only the earnings may be used to help the school and faith-based programs. The earnings are used to help keep our Catholic school open and provide funding for faith-based programs.

Parish Endowment

During Fr. Tom Ward’s time as pastor, Anna Koch died and left the parish $1,000,000 with no stipulations on how the funds could be used. Fr. Ward and the Pastoral Council made the decision to create a parish endowment. Again the trust states only the earnings may be used to support the mission of St. Mary’s.

Adopt-A-Student Endowment

The Adopt-A-Student Endowment was started while Fr. Dennis Hanneman was pastor with an initial gift of approximately $23,000. The interest earned by this endowment helps to provide financial assistance for students in need at St. Mary’s School. We know that not everyone can afford a Catholic education, but we believe every student should have the opportunity.
