Details
Required: Participants will need to arrive at least 30 minutes before Mass for preparation and instruction. Under the direction of our Lead Sacristan, they must be agreeable to assist with the following:
- Arrange books needed for celebrations and mark all the divisions
- Lay out vestments and other items needed for Mass - including: cruets, chalices, ciboria, linens, oils, processional crosses, and candles - and put them away after Mass
- Make sure there is always a fresh supply of hosts and authorized wine, clean purificators, corporals, hand towels, incense, and coals
- Ensure the observance of silence in the sacristy
- Make sure all of the vestments, church furnishings, liturgical vessels, and decorative objects are kept in good condition or repaired if needed
- Burn old linens and other objects that are no longer suitable for liturgical use
