"I was sick and you visited me" (Matthew 25:36).

You can make a difference! Join St. Mary's Homebound Ministry and carry out the work of God by visiting with those bound to their homes or bringing them the gift of the Body of Christ.

We have many parishioners that - due to illness, injury, or age - are homebound and are in need of a friend to share with them their company and the joy of Christ. Our homebound individuals are extremely valuable members of the body of Christ, and often keep all of us in prayer. In return, we can support them by visiting with them on a weekly or regular basis to walk their journey of life with them in their struggles. Visiting someone even just once a week can truly change a person’s life.

A Message for EMHCs

Holy Communion to Homebound, Senior Complexes, and Hospitals

You can be the arms and legs of Jesus here on Earth by helping those in need. All that is required is a conversation and a joyful spirit. If you are an EMHC, you may also be able to bring Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass, literally bringing Jesus into their lives.

If you are 18 or older, this is your chance to make a difference in the world one person at a time. If you are younger than 18, you can accompany your parent and do the same!

Diane Williams helps coordinate our efforts and can’t wait to help train you on how to be the “perfect” visitor to a homebound parishioner.

A Message for Homebound Parishioners

Lay Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion can bring the Eucharist to those unable to join us at Mass. This is a wonderful sign of God’s grace and the unity of all of us as one body in Christ.  Parishioners who are confined on a short or long-term basis may receive the Eucharist from a lay minister who will visit them in their homes, local senior complexes, nursing homes, and local hospitals.  Some people we visit are long term and some are for a few weeks, just while they are recovering from surgery or illness.

If you, a loved one, or a friend is recuperating from an illness, or struggling with a condition that prevents them from attending Mass, please inform us so that we can arrange for a lay minister to visit.  Please contact Diane Williams using the information below.
